What qualities should a member of Congress possess to truly represent you?

If you could select all the qualities of your representative what would you want? What issues are truly important to the voter?
How can Congress improve communication with the voters and each other?
The ability to listen to those they represent – whatever their issues may be.

well for starters they could make AT$T and friends tell them why they were spying on us.

A Congresscritter should obey the Constitution’s plain teaching and insist on Bill of Rights enforcement. In other words, all laws repugnant to the Constitution are null and void, so don’t bother introducing such legislation.
Congresscritters and their staffs should actually read citizens’ e-mails and letters and quit believing that a cheesy form letter makes for an adequate response.
