Rick Reyes’s full testimony before Congress
Rick Reye’s full testimony before Congress on April 23, 2009.
Thanks to your efforts, we were able to bring Rick Reyes, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, to Congress’s attention. A former Corporal in the US Marines, Reyes was powerful and truthful as he told Senator John Kerry and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “I urge you on behalf of truth and patriotism to consider carefully and rethink Afghanistan. More troops, more occupation is not the answer.”
Reyes’s testimony raises critical concerns that Congress must address before approving a massive supplemental war funding bill in the next few weeks. Let’s work to halt this war funding bill by calling our Representatives, and urging them not to vote for it until all the questions raised in these hearings have been answered. If you’re not sure who represents you, find out here.

“If It Goes on …
“If It Goes on Indefinitely” ? With money owing into the “TRILLIONS” WITH INTEREST to COMMUNIST COUNTRY’S such as China, The War In The Middle East and the money being wasted away is money WE DON’T HAVE! The Dollar Is Shrinking! Anyone Notice? If you don’t think America’s Sovereignty hasn’t been sold off by Corporate Money Mongering Politicians/CEO’s (Long Ago) think again! Like an unpaid home mortgage, your home is owned by the bank. Now who owns America?
Again! Know what your fighting for!

Wasn’t Vietnam …
Wasn’t Vietnam evidence enough? I see it as history repeating itself. And when you use the same tactics expecting different results, most agree, it’s pretty damned stupid. Is that what America stands for? Being Stupid? Killing or being responsible for destroying another human being without provocation? Bring em all back home and Militarily Secure our own borders it. Illegal Mexican Drug Trade is killing and destroying “MILLIONS” of American Lives, but distracted with the Middle East.

Sorry to come down …
Sorry to come down on you so hard armyvetran, but I cannot for the life of me understand why “ANY” American could devalue the life of others. Had the same thing happened here in our country, seeing my own kids or wife PLEADING! “PLEASE DON’T TAKE MY DADDY” and without “ANY” proof or evidence is in itself pure evil. The same freedoms and justice we ourselves expect should be given without prejudice. I see the U.S. military forces as Brutally “POLICING THE WORLD”. Know What Your Fighting For!

what makes him a …
what makes him a retard? because he has an opinion on how the operation could go? i bet the same people who try to drown out the calls for staying the course while we responsibly carry out our exit strategy are the same people who couldn’t even tell you the name of the operation without looking it up. we’re there, and we have to be responsible. we can’t just pull out now. and it was going to be called operation infinite justice, but it wasn’t PC with islam, so it was called enduring freedom

I agree that we …
I agree that we can’t afford it if it goes on indefinitely. And the fact that I wasn’t there doesn’t automatically mean that my opinion has no value. I served long enough to know what I’m talking about, and I believe Reyes is not focusing his critique on the real culprits. He seems to be focusing it on the troops, and that’s the wrong position to take. I’m not saying the troops are perfect or infallible by any means, but they’re trying hard to carry out the mission they’ve been handed.
December 24th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
First off! We can’t …
First off! We can’t afford it, 2nd of all, you weren’t there, Rick Reyes was, and I’ve heard many U.S. troops telling the “SAME” story! Killing is not the answer, and we don’t belong there! As far as “Explaining” in an intelligent manner, WATCH THE VIDEO! IT Speaks For Itself! What you got from me was my take on how ignorant (void of any common understanding) you are. Killing/Maiming/Detaining/Harassing innocents is WRONG! What? ALL TROOPS ARE GOOD AT HEART? BULLSHIT! EVIL EXISTS EVERYWHERE!
December 24th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Can you explain …
Can you explain intelligently just what’s so ignorant about it? Can you use your brain for anything other than hurling unprovoked insults and making stupid assumptions? You might have served in uniform, and my appreciation for that goes out to you if you did, but you certainly don’t get to question neither the legitimacy nor the value of my military service. I’ll be happy to debate Rick’s stand on the issues with you, once you stop behaving like an arrogant, ignorant, conceited, moronic jackass.
December 24th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
It’s the ignorant …
It’s the ignorant mentality of this moron “armybetaran101st” that lived off American Tax Payers that make me ashamed to be an American. Me? 82nd ABN INF 11c Jump School Honor Grad, what were you? Motor Mouth Brigade? You don’t deserve to be called a veteran, your most likely some poor fool that has to find an excuse for being dumb enough to get your leg shot off in Viet Nam….FKG TARD!
RICK REYES!!! Thanks For Standing Up And Being A MAN!

I couldn’t agree …
I couldn’t agree more, bigbengamer!
December 24th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Yeah, but the …
Yeah, but the Russians were nowhere near as militarily proficient as we are, and they had different goals and motivations. I’m getting really tired of people making this stupid comparison between us and the Russians. That does not mean I think we should stay in Afghanistan forever or even be there still, for that matter, but if people are going to opine on the subject they should do so in an informed manner, and not making stupid comparisons that are illogical and irrelevant.

lol these are the …
lol these are the same people who say its the head of a business that deserves the credit for its growth. yet when the business is failing, the first thing they do is layoff the people who put their backs into something that won’t fill their wallets
December 24th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Why? Serving in …
Why? Serving in uniform is a privilege, regardless of who sits in the White House calling the shots. Your attitude is that of the typical bleeding heart who blames the military for the bad decisions made by worthless asswipes like Bush. Your daughter will become a better person and citizen for having served in uniform, as do 99% of the people who have the honor of serving in the military. Reyes has a very unfortunate way of painting U.S. troops as the bad guys, and he is wrong for doing that.

Although Cpl. Rick …
Although Cpl. Rick Reyes’ testimony was 5 months ago, it made a great impact on me when i learned that my youngest daughter joined the Army National Guard. Whatever her reasons for doing so, I believed that if she knew of the testimony, she would have reconsidered her decision.

IP: Most people …
IP: Most people seem to forget that the Muslim people, especially the fanatical right-wing Muslim people take their religion seriously. An eye for an eye means a whole other thing than it does here in the US. When an eye for an eye opposition occurs, they quite literally are ready to remove the eye from those who hurt them first. Bush stepped in a steaming pile of it when he attacked a sovereign nation w/o probable cause then used kangaroo ct to induce govt-sanctioned murder.

I read every word …
I read every word you said and it amounted to the equivalent of us keeping a permanent occupation in that country, which we cannot afford unless you want to send your trillions of dollars over there to support that country because frankly, the rest of the country is tapped out…. So, shut up and crawl back under that hole you climbed out of.

its a pity that you cant read. your whole comment’s gone to waste. dunno why you replied to me when you have not even read what i said.
