Randy Pausch’s testimony to the Labor, Health and Human Serv

By: admin
Published: December 11th, 2009

On March 13, 2008, Dr. Randy Pausch provided testimony to the Labor, Health & Human Services Subcommittee on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. This is his personal story about his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and his fight to survive.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, but receives extremely little federal funding to support research efforts. In March of 2008, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network went to Congress to urge the federal government to provide critical funding to speed the cure for this horrible disease.

    We all strive for …
We all strive for purpose in our lives. To become an advocate for others while on your own deathbed demonstrates a level of personal character most will never know. Randy has forever impacted my life. Thank you Randy for making a difference in this world. May God bless your soul and your family.

I highly appreciate your words, love, patient, simplicity and your gentle behaviour.
I wish we had many of Randy in our world, because we need to be educated and encouraged properly. Randy, I swear on god that I miss you too much and whenever I watch your videos my heart goes out for you but I can not prevent myself from watching your interviews and lectures. I sincerely and humbly have special regards to his brave wife and lovely children. May god bless you Randy and your soul rest in peace.

    I think this man …
I think this man has done so much good in this world. He has opened our minds to a cancer, and make us think about it and make a change. After watching his last lecture I really understood his love for his family and his students and job. He is a great man and didnt deserve any of this. I could never say he was SELF CENTERED or his WIFE just wanted the MONEY. I garenttee his family would choose him over any money. I hope you feel ashamed zzzFATxxTONYzzz. You are just terrible!

    As a woman widowed …
As a woman widowed at 28 with a 6 month old and 2 1/2 year old, I know the pain and struggle that Mr. Paush’s wife is feeling and will continue to feel every day as she tries to make the best decision for her children, by herself. He states he knows he will die, 100% sure. He is asking for help for the future patients of this horrible disease, NOT for himself. How the is that self centered? Godspeed Randy, you have touched my life and that of my children forever.

I hope to see that fund grow and grow in honor of this man’s memory and in hopes of helping others who don’t even know they have pancreatic cancer yet!
