On September 18, 1986, just 7 months after she was swept to power by a popular revolt against dictator Ferdinand Marcos, president Corazon C. Aquino addressed the joint session of the United States Congress during her first visit to the country since she came home to bury slain opposition leader and husband Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino, Jr. in August 1983.

    Can Somebody …
Can Somebody explain to me Why does Martial Law always seem to land right when the Aquino’s want to run for president? Is there Really an Aquino Curse? Look Martial Law was slamed on Ninoy and Cory when Marcos was president because the Aquinos were falsely accused of being Communists or CIA operatives. When Arroyo declared Martial Law Noynoy was heading to the presidency and Bong Marcos said we should stick to State of Emergency

    If Cory and Ninoy …
If Cory and Ninoy saw the Ampatuan genocide and Arroyo’s Martial Law Today. They would say that Mikey Arroyo, Gloria Arroyo and the Ampatuans are more brazen than the Marcoses. Look Even Bong Marcos does not like Gloria Arroyo’s thugs. Even Bong Marcos says that Gloria Arroyo’s Martial Law is more Brazen than Ferdinand Marcos.

    If President Nixon …
If President Nixon did not Negotiate with China in the 1972 or Ronald Reagan Negotiate with Russia in 1985, or Cory taking down Marcos in 1986. the Cold War would Still happen today.

    I blame McCarthyism …
I blame McCarthyism for this. The only reason Marcos was supported by the USA was that the Joseph McCarthy supporters in the USA wanted to use Martial Law in the 1950′s and 1960′s in the USA to end communism. If Joseph McCarthy and Ferdinand Marcos were presidents in the USA and RP and both declaring Martial Law at the same time. Both RP and the USA would have been dropped by nukes from China in the 1960′s to the 1990′s and both RP and the USA would have been more like Rwanda.

    Look at these …
Look at these Americans,,, when Marcos was still in power they continue to give him support, when he was gone, they supported then Cory Aquino. Look how hypocryt… Support the dictator then support those who opposed him.

    If Joe McCarthy was …
If Joe McCarthy was President of the USA in the 1950′s we would have a Marcos/ Arroyo Style Martial Law in this country.

    I think Mikey …
I think Mikey Arroyo is the real author of Martial Law 2 because I think he did this because He can’t wait to be dictator of the Philippines. Once Gloria takes Congress seat Mikey will turn RP into Rwanda. All of RP’s wealth will be hidden in China and the USA because the Arroyo’s got back up thugs in US and Chinese Corporations.

    Look If Cory and …
Look If Cory and Ninoy knew anything about the Ampatuan Genocide that happened on 11-23-09. They will react and say Martial Law is back. I wish Cory and Ninoy were here to get rid of three people out of office Mikey Arroyo, GMA, and Andal Ampatuan. These people in power today are making RP into East Rwanda. Now RP is the most dangerous country in East Asia after North Korea and China. Now we and Noynoy need to stop Ampatuan, Mikey and GMA. from making Martial Law 2. They are worse than Marcos.

    you’re just one of …
you’re just one of the typical filipinos believing in the same old philosophy that this nation will never get back in shape. how can we make a better change for this country if we, ourselves rests our own will to stand once again. yes, philippines is half dead because of persistent corruption and yet will be dead eventually with you and the rest of us trying to be complacent though our minds says no.

    I will be a realist …
I will be a realist and objective.
Our society is corrupt to the core. The ruling class who are mostly corrupt control our media, the economy and of course the local/national government.

Elections will not make a dent in changing the inequity and poverty. The system only serves those in power. The few families, their relatives, friends and cronies will make sure they remain on top, while the rest say “yes ma’am” and “yes sir.”

Our country is now oppressed by corruption.

    “In burying Ninoy, …
“In burying Ninoy, a whole nation honored him”

26 years later, the same nation paid no less than a loving tribute in sending Cory back to reunite with Ninoy.

Seeing Cory speak before the US Congress was a sight to behold (I was just starting prep at the time), not even the Malacanang midget can try to duplicate this.

Love namin kayo, President Cory! You have no idea how much we miss you.

    If Mikey Arroyo …
If Mikey Arroyo becomes president in 2010then it will be more Dangerous than what we saw in 1970′s and 1980′s with Marcos. because first of all we see China, and North Korea taking over the Philippines based on Mike Arroyo’s bribery scandal.
